The first thing we notice when looking at another person is their eyes. It has often been said, “the eyes are the windows to your soul”.  When your eyes start to show the effects of aging, we look tired, older, sad, angry, run-down, or fatigued. You may want to consider cosmetic eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty.

Eyelid surgery can consist either upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.  The upper eyelid incision is placed in the natural contour of the upper eyelid, removing excess skin and fat, and is comouflaged upon healing.  Lower eyelid surgery also involves removing excess skin and the fat pad. This incision may be made just under the lash line, or inside the lower lid.  Dr. James E. Murphy will decide the best approach for your eyelids, during your consultation.

Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure.  In some instances, if the upper eyelid is obscuring vision, insurance may pay for the procedure.  This involves getting a field of vision test from your opthomologist.
